Honestly, Mark Schultz music has been so “instrumental” (pun intended) in the life of my family, I cannot BEGIN to chronicle it all, but the most meaningful for me was when I was asked to officiate the funeral of my stepdad’s mother.

She had lived a long and delightful life with her husband of 63 years.  They had attended church off and on, but had not brought their children up in the Lord.  I am the only Christian in the family so I was moved (to say the least) when asked to perform such a task.
I knew I had to play “He was walking her home”.  It fit them so perfectly, except the “hope of home” at the end.  As I pressed “play” on the CD player, I said a silent prayer for each of the 50 plus people in the reception hall.  The song made each eye tear and each heart receptive to hear about God’s love for Mary (my grandma) and for all wanting to be “walked home”.  Even Grandpa thanked me for picking such a meaningful song to honor the love of his life and the joy they shared.

Thank you, Mark.  Thank you for being a masterful story weaver, talented musician, and child of God.  BTW, we enjoyed your concert the other night in Bakersfield.

Blessings and thanks!
