I have always had Christ in my life. There have been times when my faith has faltered, but I think we all go through that. I must admit that over the last 2-3 years my faith has become stronger and more meaningful. One of the reasons is because of Mark Schultz and his music. I first discovered Mark in early 2006. I believe God uses different circumstances to help us recognize and embrace our faith and bring us even closer to Christ. It was during one of these situations I found Christian music and Mark Schultz. A young man from my church parish was diagnosed with leukemia and his parents kept family and friends informed of his situation through a CaringBridge site. His mother would write from her heart. Her love of God was very evident, even in this difficult situation. I took the opportunity to read and sign the guestbook quite regularly. This made me so much more aware of God and His will. This is when I started listening to Christian radio and consequently found Mark Schultzs music. After hearing You are a Child of Mine and Hes My Son, I quickly became a Mark fan. It was something about his songs that touched my heart immensely. I first saw Mark in concert on October 1, 2006. His performance was awesome and I became even more of a fan!! He is so warm and welcoming at his concerts. It is like he is entertaining and visiting with you in your living room. I have attended 7 concerts and still counting!
The song of Marks that has really made an impact on me is Remember Me. I had the pleasure to meet Mark in Quincy, Illinois, when he was on his bike ride across America during the summer of 2007. I met him one morning before he left to ride that day. He welcomed me with a hug and lots of questions about that days ride – whether it was hilly, etc. It still gives me goose bumps to remember that very early June morning. Before Mark started to ride for the day, the entire group held hands and offered prayer for his day. The line from Remember Me – Remember Me, when you pray and tears of joy fall from your eyes fit me perfectly that day. I had tears of joy from that experience. It was so powerful. I do not know if I have ever had that much intensity in prayer before. I feel very blessed to have been able to be a part of that moment with Mark and everyone. My faith is stronger than ever and continues to thrive because of Mark and his music. Thank you God for giving us Mark!
Blessings and Hugs,
