My name is Dayna Floyd. I am 17 years old and I have been a huge fan of yours since I was about 13. Your music has helped me so much through the ups and downs. During the summer of 2006, my family and I went to Bemus Point to see you in concert. This was one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced; I could truly feel God’s presence. I am so grateful that I was able to come to the concert and meet you afterwards. God really works in mysterious ways, and I definitely have found this out. The concert made me so uplifted and so strong, but here God was giving me something to get me through the week after that. We got home from the concert and a little later on received a phone call that my grandma had fallen. She had to have emergency brain surgery, but even after that things weren’t looking so good. We spent the next few days hoping and praying that she would pull through, but when she didn’t respond to the surgery, we had her taken off of life support. She lasted a few hours after that. Through the loss of my grandma, I had the concert to hold onto for something happy to think about. Also at the same time, 1,000 Miles was on your website as a preview for Broken and Beautiful, and the words to that song comforted me so much.
You also had a huge affect on me the next summer. I think you are such an amazing person for the bike ride you did. I kept track of your progress everyday; it was one of the first things I did in the morning when I woke up. When I saw that you were going to be riding through Erie, PA, I felt this little tug from God that I should try to ride with you and that I should find a way to donate money to the James Fund. I was so nervous when I came to ride with you, but you were so friendly and encouraging that I was able to ride 20 miles with you. I never thought I was make it past 5 or 10 miles, but you stayed with me, helping me the whole way. You are such a blessing to all of the orphans that you have helped and thank you so much for encouraging me when I rode with you.
You and your music have been such a blessing to me. You treat everyone so kindly and I can truly see that you have a burning passion for God. Thank you for all of the music that you have shared with us and for using the gift and talents that God has provided you with. You have truly been a blessing in my life. I cannot wait for your new cd coming out, and to see you in concert in Bradford, PA this September.
