December Cloud of The Month!!

This month, on the 31st, I will bid a Happy Birthday to my son. He will be 2 this year. Seems like a great day to celebrate, right? It is a great day for his dad, sisters, and I. You see, Donald Michael-Evans(my son), was born on New Year’s Eve 2008. He was what I always wanted, a son. He was born via emergency c-section after some complications with the pregnancy. Minutes after his birth, he went into cardiac arrest and was air-lifted to the nearest NICU where it was discovered that he had a Congenital Heart Defect and several other congenital defects. During this time of fear and walking hand in hand with our Saviour, I heard Mark’s song He’s My Son. I cried the entire length of the song. Because that is exactly how I felt. The pain of what he had to endure was felt by me. Meaning, I felt every stick, every surgery, every tube, every wire. Then on October 5, 2009, Michael-Evans went to join our Lord in Heaven. He was 9 months old. He never had a birthday here on earth, but rather he celebrates with the one who gave him life. A goal I am striving for everyday. Since his passing, I have found comfort in a other of Mark’s songs He Is. I find refuge in this song because it reminds me that the same God that gave me those precious nine months with my baby boy, is the same God that delivered him and made him whole, and will always be the God that gives me strength to endure the daily ups and downs of not being able to hold him. December 31, 2010, I will be singing Happy Birthday to my son in Heaven for the second time. Mark’s songs and ministry has helped me be a testament of faith to those around me. My faith didn’t falter in one of the darkest hours of my life. I continue to serve our Lord Jesus Christ for he brought me through this. Thanks
