Well, I have a birthday in a couple of weeks, and Kate has been working on a trip to make it a memorable one. We left for Europe September 1st and flew to Paris. I actually have no idea where we are going for the next 20 days. Kate’s going to tell me each day where we’re traveling next. I actually didn’t know we were staying in Paris but on the flight over Kate gave me a Paris guidebook as a gift as my first clue. I’ll keep you posted…All I know is that twenty days from now we will end up in Florence, Italy.
Kate finished her medical school and residency in OB-GYN this May (eight long years) and I completed 10 years of touring. Needless to say, though we’ve been married for 5 years, our cumulative time together feels like 9 months. I think we are still newlyweds by that standard.
Anyway, we both wanted to do something this year that would take us out of our comfort zones, grow our dreams big and inspire us for the next chapter of our lives. Our desire is that at the end of this year we will have grown closer together and closer to God. We are praying that Kate will get direction for her career in which she hopes to combine medicine and missions; and my prayer is that I will be inspired creatively and spiritually so that my music and message will continue to be meaningful and also glorify God.
Even though we’re traveling, I’ll still be back to the States for shows in the Fall/Winter 2010 and also Spring of 2011. Additionally, I’m hoping to get to share my music with audiences in Europe as well. So, I will keep you posted on our journey and I will look forward to coming back to the States in December for my Christmas Tour, in a city near you, and sharing more of what God has been showing us.
God Bless

Yeah! do that! come to Europe to tour! SCOTLAND! do SCOTLAND! hahaha (I bet you get these requests all the time, come here- go there)
ok….so can i ask the biggest huge-est favor ever!? My best friend has dedicated everything to a christian charity which keeps youths off the streets. It and she is incredible! A true woman and warrior of god.
She’s getting married next year…now…i know how huge a request this would be but would it be AT ALL possible to send her a wee note or 5 second recording of you saying hi?
It would mean everything to her and she really deserves it. for her hen party we wanted to come to the states to see you but couldn’t afford it. =(
I don’t have much money to offer for the massive reuest but i will give all i have for her to get this little treat.
Thankyou, Hazel Meney (bridesmaid, sister in christ and fan =) )

Mark,
Happy Birthday! I hope I didn’t miss it, but just incase, Happy late birthday!
I just got married 3 months ago, and God blessed me with a beautiful person. She has sinal bifida, and has no feeling from the waist down. Though she’s handicapped, she is amaizingly a wonderful person. She’s not in medicine, but washes dishes!
Imagine if you had to go to school for 8 years to learn to do that! Anyway, Happy Birthday, and God bless!

Dear Mark,
Thank you for your music. When my son was in Iraq, your song “He’s my son” got me through this rough time in my life. Although he will never be the same, he’s home, he’s safe. Thank you for your comforting lyrics. I can’t wait to see you at Fox River Christian on the 5th of December. Thank you for the blessing of your song.
Kathryn
